ICRT 2017 Presentation – Tamping Effectiveness Prediction Using Supervised Machine Learning Techniques

The conference took place in the Wangjiang Hotel, Chengdu, China on 10 to 12 July 2017. The paper that I am presenting is Tamping Effectiveness Prediction Using Supervised Machine Learning Techniques. It is a work on predicting the effectiveness of a railway maintenance procedure (tamping) (slides here). In other words, we want to see if tamping were to be done today, will it be effective. Tamping is a common maintenance procedure for railway tracks. After the presentation, I received good comments for my work and presentation skills from many industry experts. They also gave me some new directions for my future work.
