IHHA 2017 Presentation – Machine Learning Approaches for Tamping Effectiveness Prediction

The conference took place in Cape Town International Convention Centre, Cape Town, South Africa on 2 to 6 September 2017. The paper that I presented is “Machine Learning Approaches for Tamping Effectiveness Prediction”. It is a work on predicting the effectiveness of a railway maintenance procedure (tamping) (slides here). This work is similar to a previous work that was presented in ICRT2017. During this conference, I’ve met many heavy haul industry experts. As we are moving towards industry 4.0, they were very interested in applying machine learning to the heavy haul industry – Heavy Haul 4.0.
